Mechanic Motor Trade Insurance

Mechanics Insurance

Does a mechanic need a full motor trade policy?

A motor trade policy is designed for a car dealer and the insurance requirements of a car dealer are different to that of a mechanic.

A car dealer may need dozens of his own cars insured. A mechanic will normally only need one plus his customers' cars.

We have a motor trade policy specially designed for motor mechanics which reflects the much reduced risk of a motor mechanic and of course normally at a much lower premium.

Mechanics Insurance

Our policy for motor mechanics is designed to cover their own works vehicle and also extends to cover all customers cars without a value restriction. If the mechanic choses comprehensive cover, all of his customers cars are covered for comprehensive cover as well.

The policy is suitable for mechanics working from garage or workshop premises as well as mobile mechanics, valeters, motor engineers, tuners, servicers, repairers, panel beaters, breakdown and accident recovery operators or similar occupations.

A typical motor mechanic driving a 2500cc van could have his vehicle insured and all his customers' cars insured for comprehensive cover when he drives them for little more than £300.

Young Drivers

We can provide cover for mechanics and valeters who are running their own business from the age of 21. If you are a new business we may need a Business plan which we can show the underwriters.

Public Liability Insurance For Mechanics

Added to that we can provide Public Liability insurance including Service Indemnity for under £200. Please call us 01256 883989 for a quotation or click here for a Public Liability quotation form.
